Grill'd (Mt Lawley)

First I would just like to say I've actually now tasted an amazing vegetarian burger. However, it comes from a small restaurant in Whittier, California, which I realise isn't the most useful place. I tried to put the epicness of this burger out of my mind when I tried the burger at Grill'd.

They had three burgers on the menu:
GARDEN GOODNESS / $12.50
Premium quality veggie pattie with beetroot, tasty cheese, avocado, salad, relish & herbed mayo.
FIELD OF DREAMS / $12.50
Grilled field mushroom, basil pesto, roasted peppers, tasty cheese, salad & herbed mayo.
BOMBAY BLISS / $12.50
Premium quality chickpea pattie with roasted peppers, tzatziki, salad & relish.

and I tried the Field of dreams, and had a taste of the Garden Goodness.

Field of dreams
So this burger really wasn't special. The mushroom was supposed to be the patty, which would have been okay, but the way it was cooked gave it a really odd flavour which seemed to ruin the rest of the burger for me. Unfortunately, my favourite bit of the burger was the bun.

Garden Goodness

I think the Garden Goodness was probably better, but I still didn't really like it. The beetroot was a nice addition.

All in all, I didn't really like them, I prefer the Jus Burger Pumpkin burger out of any Perth burgers I've had so far, but it will be hard to beat that one in California...

  1. Can I please ask, what was the burger you had in California and where from? I'm going there in March and I am a vegetarian who LOVES burgers. Burgers are definitely my favourite food, I could go to missy moos 100 times and never get sick of it.

I have found, however, that burger bistro and grill'd burgers are so bad i never have the desire to finish them (and i don't think i have ever finished them).

Jus burgers, Missy Moos, Flipside and Burgers with Attitude are lush, you should definitely try them.

SO ANYWAY back to my original question, please tell me where you ate this magnificent burger and I will love you forever! please email carolinekirtisingham@live.com.au

    Thank you!

  2. Just to share, so far the best vegetarian burgers that I've tried are found in Melbourne. The few cafes that I went to during my tour in Melbourne all serve great vegetarian burgers that are unforgettable! They usually serve potato patty instead of "meat-like" patty.

I always recommend my friends to try the vegetarian burgers in Melbourne if they're visiting there. A friend, non-vegetarian, went there last year with her family. She and her family liked the vegetarian burgers at Burger Monster so much that they specially drove there the following day to try it again.

I'm glad to know there're people who like to explore vegetarian burgers too. If there're any good vegetarian burgers, I appreciate you can share with me at Lkokmin@yahoo.com.sg

    Thank you! :)
